Good to know
Do guests need an account?
No. Guests open the invitation, choose a display name and start adding links.
How much does it cost?
A free event includes 20 songs. A$2.99 buys a seven-day pass for multiple 200-song parties with playlist save/reload and phone controllers. Founder memberships begin at A$5 per year and rise to the normal A$20 annual price as places are claimed. A maximum of 500 Lifetime Founder memberships will cost A$50 once.
What happens when a party expires?
The party closes and disappears for guests after seven days. Paid hosts and controllers then have seven days to download the playlist as a local JSON file before all party, guest and queue data is deleted.
What happens if a membership ends?
Existing parties keep their normal expiry and export window. Playlists already downloaded to your device remain yours to reload later.
Does JukeBoxMusic download music or remove advertising?
No. Playback uses YouTube's official embedded player, leaving playback and advertising under YouTube's control.
Can playback continue with the phone locked?
Brave on Android can support background video playback when enabled in its Media settings. Browser and operating-system behaviour can change, so this is not guaranteed.
Can guests listen on their own phones?
Yes. Listen Along opens the current song in YouTube's official player after the guest taps to start. Timing is approximate because advertisements and network delays can differ between devices.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Guests can join in Safari, paste copied YouTube links and use Listen Along. Android additionally supports direct sharing to the installed app.
